Today I would like to see you having a go at using your phonics and common words. Can you read the sentences to someone and draw me pictures to go with them?
I can see a red car.
A pig is in the mud.
The King has a crown.
Challenge: can you write your own sentence using your sounds and common words and draw a picture to go with it?
Can you work out the coins we would use to pay for the items? Pick at least 3.
You could make your own toy shop or sweetie shop and become the shop keeper. If you have coins lying about your house you can use them, if not, you could use our Topmarks game to make different amounts of just draw our your coins.
You could use all 1p or challenge yourself to make the amounts using a variety of coins 🙂
Challenge – if Mrs McLauchlan used a 10p piece to pay for these items can she afford them? Could you work out the change the shop keeper would give me?
(Use your take away sums to help you!)
Today you can take a tour of Edinburgh Castle using google maps, have a look for anything interesting you see on the way around.
