Mathematics is important in our everyday life, allowing us to make sense of the world around us and to manage our lives. All pupils follow a structured programme including:
- Number, money and measure
- Shape, position and movement
- Information handling
Children need mathematical skills for their everyday life. Numbers, patterns and shapes intrigue children and often form part of their play. Both calculators and computers are introduced in mathematical contexts, table practice and daily mental arithmetic are however essential to develop mental agility.
