This BGE should provide young people with a wide range of knowledge, skills and experiences\u00a0on which they can draw,\u00a0as their lives, careers and job opportunities continue to evolve.<\/p>\n<p>The BGE phase of CfE is closely connected to the Senior Phase with the learning undertaken until the end of S3\u00a0to provide\u00a0a strong foundation for specialising in a range of subjects. In the Senior Phase, young people will have the opportunity to take qualifications and courses that suit their ability and interests.<\/p>\n<p>The curricular areas which will be followed within the BGE are:<\/p>\n<p>Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing, which are the\u00a0responsibility of all. \u00a0English, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Sciences, Social Studies, Expressive Arts and Religious and Moral Education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Broad General Education A core\u00a0entitlement of CfE is that all children shall receive a\u00a0broad general education (BGE), from early years to the end of S3, before moving to a senior phase in S4 to S6, which will include studying for qualifications.
