House Captain Speeches
This afternoon, we held a very special school assembly to listen to the house captain candidate speeches. All of the speeches were outstanding; very well prepared and well delivered.
On Monday, children and staff across the school will receive a voting slip. The House Captains will be judged on their application forms, their speeches, general conduct, election posters and votes.
Good luck, everyone!
Brediland’s Got Talent!
This afternoon, some of our talented pupils performed to the whole school in our talent show, as part of RARA Day. Mrs Temple, Mr Mothersole (booooooooooo!) and Mrs Robertson, along with 2 Primary 6 pupils formed the judges panel. We were honestly blown away with the vast array of talent on show! Well done to everyone who took part and a huge congratulations to our top 5 acts. You smashed it!!!
RARA Day
Welcome to Brediland!
This afternoon, we welcomed next session’s primary 1 children to Brediland. The primary 6 children welcomed their little buddies to the school and took them to play in our Yellow Room whilst the mums, dads, and grans enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee. They then visited Mrs Forsyth’s classroom to see, and try, some primary 1 activities.
It was a lovely afternoon! We hope the little buddies enjoyed their visit as much as we enjoyed having them. We will welcome them back to the school in a couple of weeks on the 6th June.
Sports Day Fun!
Today, we rounded off health week with our annual Sports Day event. It wasn’t as warm and sunny as the rest of the week but at least it didn’t rain! The children made their way around 7 activity stations throughout the morning and had lots of fun!! We rounded the morning off with a House relay race. Stewart House came first, followed by Bruce House in second place.
We couldn’t have managed this week without the help and expertise of Jamie Forest, our Active Schools coordinator, and his amazing team.
A huge thank you to all of our parents/carers for your help and support which helped to make this week a huge success!

Bikeability
Unfortunately, the van bringing the climbing wall to Brediland was involved in an accident this morning. Everyone was okay, thankfully! So instead of climbing, the Primary 6 & 7 children had a Bikeability workshop. The aim was to develop the children’s confidence on a bike and to teach them some bike control. They really enjoyed this activity. Â Ask them about it!
Primary 2/3
Primary 2/3 had a busy day today. For maths, they went outside to measure the length of the walking path using trundle wheels, as part of their daily mile. The calculated one lap to be around 150m! Wow!
This afternoon, they each made a healthy sandwich which they then took outside for a picnic whilst listening to a nice story. They thoroughly enjoyed this. It’s so much nicer when the sun shines!
