Over the next few weeks you should prepare a solo talk which you will present to the class on\u00a0Tuesday 28th February<\/strong>. This talk can be on a topic of your choice. The criteria and task sheet for this task can be found below.<\/p>\n

Solo Talk Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learning Outcome: \u00a0<\/strong>I can research a topic of my choice and create a detailed presentation.<\/p>\n

Using what I know about the features of different types of texts, I can find, select and sort information from a variety of sources and use this for different purposes. LIT 2-14a<\/strong><\/p>\n

Application & Knowledge<\/strong>: I can apply<\/strong> my knowledge<\/strong> of a topic of my choice, to plan <\/strong>and produce<\/strong> an interesting presentation.<\/p>\n

To build on your presentation skills you have to prepare a solo talk to present to your peers. Presentations play a huge part in our learning and being able to present to your peers, with confidence, is a great skill to learn.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Task<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need to know<\/strong>: You are free to complete your solo talk presentation<\/strong> on any topic you wish. It would be best if you were to pick a topic you are interested in, or involved in already, as this way you will have personal knowledge about the subject you are talking about. For example, it could be about a sport you are involved in, a club you attend, a place you have visited. Your talk should be between 2-3 minutes in length.<\/p>\n

What you need to do<\/strong>: You need to plan and prepare a talk on a topic of your choice. You may use props and\/or visual aids. If you make a PowerPoint it should not be full of writing as this will ensure you are not reading directly from the slides. Photographs may be included which will help prompt you during your talk. Please choose a way you feel will best help you to demonstrate your knowledge of your chosen topic. This project is all homework based<\/u><\/strong> therefore you need to think about the resources you will have access to: books, library, internet, personal accounts etc.<\/p>\n

What you need to think about<\/strong>: You can use whatever you need to describe your chosen topic: photographs, videos, props etc. Try to think about why you picked this topic to talk about. Remember some people in class may know nothing about the topic you have chosen to discuss, so you must explain it in detail.<\/p>\n

How to get started<\/strong>: Get all of your ideas down on paper and then decide which ones are the most relevant and will best engage your audience.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You have 3 weeks<\/strong> to pull your presentation together so use your time wisely. You will be presenting your information to the class on Tuesday 28th<\/sup> February 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is an independent research project. It is your responsibility<\/strong> to organise your time\u00a0effectively and ensure you are putting in enough effort.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone will approach this task in different ways so don\u2019t worry if your friends are doing\u00a0something different from you. Have faith in what you have to say and it will all work out.<\/p>\n
