Homework this week – book, wordwall, new sound – oa as in goat. Keep practising your Scottish poem. \u00a0Most children are doing well with this. \u00a0If your child is finding it difficult, please just try to learn a few lines, as long as everyone is taking part.<\/p>\n
Maths – we start a new maths challenge sheet this week. \u00a0As before, \u00a0you choose the night that suits your to do this week’s maths challenge. \u00a0You will find the title of this week’s maths challenge highlighted and with Monday’s date beside it.<\/p>\n
This week the challenge involves giving directions. \u00a0We use forward, right turn and left turn. \u00a0The hardest thing is knowing your right from your left.<\/p>\n
Blending booklet – this week we start our blending booklet. \u00a0This week we are working on 3 letter words with a in the middle. \u00a0We will be practising these words in class and ask that you practise at home too. \u00a0You can make the words with the sound cards and help your child to blend the sounds together.<\/p>\n
Personal targets – last week we started our personal targets. \u00a0Targets for this term include – I can fasten my coat. \u00a0I can get ready for gym. I can get ready for home. \u00a0I can put on my shoes. I can brush my teeth. I know what to do with my bookbag. I can play safely in the playground. \u00a0I know the routines for lunch. \u00a0 We will focus on one target each week. It would be very helpful if you could encourage your child to pack their own bookbag, schoolbag etc, fasten their own coat and shoes. Our aim is to encourage children to be independent.<\/p>\n
