{"id":9668,"date":"2017-01-11T18:02:35","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T17:02:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/?p=9668"},"modified":"2017-01-11T18:02:35","modified_gmt":"2017-01-11T17:02:35","slug":"scottish-culture-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/2017\/01\/11\/scottish-culture-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Scottish Culture Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi There<\/p>\n<p>It is Scottish\u00a0Culture\u00a0month in January within the school!\u00a0 As part of this each child is asked to select and learn a Burns poem which they will then recite to the class.<\/p>\n<p>From this, a child from each class will be selected to represent their class at our Burns assembly.<\/p>\n<p>When learning the poem\u00a0pupils have to focus\u00a0on\u00a0\u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good, clear diction<\/li>\n<li>Pace<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of the poem<\/li>\n<li>Correct pronunciation of Scottish words<\/li>\n<li>Good facial and vocal expressions conveying the sentiment of the poem<\/li>\n<li>Variation in pace and tone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a class we picked four to focus on, however feel free to choose your own if you want!
