{"id":9558,"date":"2017-01-10T13:49:42","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T12:49:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/?p=9558"},"modified":"2017-01-10T13:49:42","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T12:49:42","slug":"p4-scottish-poems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/2017\/01\/10\/p4-scottish-poems\/","title":{"rendered":"P4 Scottish Poems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi there, as you know this month is our Scottish Culture month.\u00a0 As part of this each child is asked to select and learn a Scottish\/Burns poem which they will then recite to the class.<\/p>\n<p>From this, a child from each class will be selected to represent their class at our Burns assembly.<\/p>\n<p>When learning the poem remind your child to focus on &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good, clear diction<\/li>\n<li>Pace<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of the poem<\/li>\n<li>Correct pronunciation of Scottish words<\/li>\n<li>Good facial and vocal expressions conveying the sentiment of the poem<\/li>\n<li>Variation in pace and tone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are some links to some poems you may wish to choose.
