You will then present your project to the class on\u00a0Thursday 15th<strong>\u00a0June<\/strong>. \u00a0I know some of you may already be sunning yourself somewhere hot on this date, therefore you may complete your project prior to this date. Please see me (or Mrs Hughes if you are in P5H) and I will organise a different presentation date for you.\u00a0The criteria and task sheet for this task can be found below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Titanic Personal Project Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcome: \u00a0<\/strong>I can research a \u00a0given topic and create a detailed presentation.<\/p>\n<p>I can use primary and secondary sources selectively to research events in the past. \u00a0<strong>SOC 2-01a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I can discuss why people and events from a particular time in the past were important, placing them within a historical sequence.\u00a0<strong>SOC 2-06a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Skill for Learning<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application &amp; Knowledge<\/strong>: I can <strong>apply<\/strong> my <strong>knowledge<\/strong> of a given topic to <strong>plan <\/strong>and <strong>produce<\/strong> an interesting presentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>Skill for Work<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I can organise my time and resources independently to ensure my presentation is completed in the allocated time.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<table width=\"709\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"709\"><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To build further on your presentation skills you have to prepare a personal project\u00a0to present to your peers. Presentations play a huge part in our learning and being able to present to your peers, with confidence, is a great skill to learn.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table style=\"height: 481px\" width=\"471\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"709\"><strong>Task<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need to know<\/strong>: Your\u00a0<strong>personal project<\/strong>\u00a0should be about the Titanic. You may choose any\u00a0aspect you wish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need to do<\/strong>: You can present your project in <strong>any way you choose<\/strong>. This might be in written form, a PowerPoint presentation, a booklet, a video or even a model. In other words, you have the choice to choose the way you feel will best help you to demonstrate your knowledge of your chosen topic. This project is all <strong><u>homework based<\/u><\/strong> therefore you need to think about the resources you will have access to: books, library, internet, personal accounts etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need to think about<\/strong>: You can use whatever you need to describe your personal project: photographs, videos, props etc. Try to think about why you picked this area for your project. What was it that interested you about it? Remember some people in class may know nothing about the area you have chosen to discuss, so you must explain it in detail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to get started<\/strong>: Get all of your ideas down on paper and then decide which ones are the most relevant and will best engage your audience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Product Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<table width=\"709\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"709\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You have <strong>4<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>weeks<\/strong> to pull your presentation together so use your time wisely. You will be presenting your information to the class on <strong>Thursday<\/strong> <strong>15th June 2017.\u00a0<\/strong>Remember to try and present your information in a different format from what you have done before. Be creative!<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is an independent research project. It is <strong>your responsibility<\/strong> to organise your time\u00a0effectively and ensure you are putting in enough effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone will approach this task in different ways so don\u2019t worry if your friends are doing\u00a0something different from you.
