Good\u00a0afternoon\u00a0everyone, I hope you are having a lovely weekend. I have had a look at the photographs Mrs. O’Neill posted of your trout biology task, you all look as if you put a lot of effort into them. It also looks as if you had a successful trout release on Thursday, I was so disappointed to miss it. Please\u00a0continue reading for your homework and reminders.<\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>: Please complete\u00a0lists\u00a0al, au, aw\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0el,il<\/strong>\u00a0in your spelling homework jotter for\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>. Please continue to write out your spelling words 3 times using SaCaWaC in the same way as we do in class. You should then write a sentence for each of your first 6 spelling words. You have been trying very hard to include ambitious\u00a0vocabulary in your sentences and I have been impressed by many of the words you have used. Please continue to do this. This week we will be concentrating on the\u00a0C of VCOP \u2013\u00a0connectives<\/strong>. You should\u00a0include at least one connective in each sentence. Try to choose something more interesting than and or but.\u00a0I will be focusing on assessing your\u00a0connectives, however I will still be looking for fantastic vocabulary too.<\/p>\n

Reading<\/b>: We are continuing with our novel study \u2013 Danny the Champion of the World. Please remember if you do not complete the reading you will be unable to take part in the class lesson. Please remember your homework was to \u00a0read chapters\u00a016<\/strong>,\u00a017<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a018<\/b> for\u00a0Wednesday 8th March.<\/b><\/p>\n

If there are any words\u00a0that you\u00a0don\u2019t understand please take a note of them in your Book Detectives jotter (remembering the page number)\u00a0and, if possible, use a dictionary to find\u00a0out their meaning\u00a0. We\u00a0will start our lesson by discussing\u00a0them in class.<\/p>\n

Personal Reading Challenge<\/strong>: You now only have 5\u00a0weeks of reading left to complete your\u00a0challenge. I\u00a0am delighted\u00a0to see so many\u00a0of you\u00a0continuing to fill in your Personal Reading Passports. Remember to choose your books carefully to ensure they are at the correct level for you \u2013 not too easy or too hard. You can bring your book into school as this will allow you to read it during our ERIC time.<\/p>\n

Listening & Talking<\/b>: You\u00a0will be presenting\u00a0your solo\u00a0talk to the class on Tuesday<\/strong>. Please click here<\/u> <\/u><\/a>to see the task sheet with all of the details required. If you have any resources that need to be used on the computer please bring them in on Monday<\/strong> so we can check that they will work.<\/p>\n

Maths:\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0Mrs O’Neill <\/b>has posted another set of worded problems on your maths homework blog.\u00a0 Please complete\u00a0these in \u00a0your maths homework jotter. As always, please read each question carefully. You should ensure you are showing workings AND\u00a0giving a full sentence answer. This homework is due for Thursday. <\/b><\/p>\n

A high standard of work is being produced from\u00a0the majority\u00a0of you. Well done, keep it up!<\/p>\n

  1. P.E. will be on Tuesday and\u00a0Thursday\u00a0<\/strong>this week.\u00a0Please ensure you have a P.E. kit in school.\u00a0Please\u00a0also remember to \u00a0have a bottle of water with you as you will be working hard.<\/li>\n
  2. If you have not returned your consent form and payment for the Ten Pieces concert on Wednesday, please return them as soon as possible.<\/li>\n
  3. Please remember to bring in a packed lunch on Wednesday as we will be out of school at our usual lunch time.<\/li>\n
  4. World Book Day is on\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>. All money raised for your readathon should be brought to school on this day. You may also wear your PJs\/onesie to school or dress up as\u00a0a character from your favourite book. A \u00a31 donation is suggested for doing so. If you are not taking part\u00a0in the dressing up, school uniform should be worn. Please remember to bring your favourite book with you too.<\/li>\n
  5. We will be visiting Bishopton Library on Tues 7th March between break and lunch. We need 2 parent helpers to accompany us on this visit. If anyone at home can help us with us please ask them to put a note in your homework diary.<\/li>\n
  6. As we will be working on our River Clyde mural throughout\u00a0our topic\u00a0it would be\u00a0good if\u00a0you could bring in an old t-shirt or shirt to keep your uniform clean.<\/li>\n
