Good\u00a0morning\u00a0everyone, I hope you are having a lovely weekend and relaxing after all the hard work you put in to make our fundraising event such a success! Please\u00a0continue reading for your homework and reminders.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>: Please complete\u00a0lists\u00a0a for\u00a0o<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0est<\/strong>\u00a0in your spelling homework jotter for\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>. Please continue to write out your spelling words 3 times using SaCaWaC in the same way as we do in class. You should then write a sentence for each of your first 6 spelling words. We are again concentrating on the V of VCOP \u2013 vocabulary <\/strong>this week. You should be trying to have at least one wow word<\/strong> in each sentence (many of you should be\u00a0aiming for\u00a0more). I will again\u00a0be focusing on assessing your fabulous vocabulary.<\/p>\n

Reading<\/b>: We are continuing with our novel study \u2013 Danny the Champion of the World. Please remember if you do not complete the reading you will be unable to take part in the class lesson. Please read chapters\u00a013, 14<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a015<\/b> for\u00a0Tuesday<\/strong> 28th February.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If there are words\u00a0that you\u00a0don\u2019t understand please take a note of them in your Book Detectives jotter (remembering the page number)\u00a0and, if possible, use a dictionary to find\u00a0out their meaning\u00a0. We\u00a0will start our lesson by discussing\u00a0them in class.<\/p>\n

Personal Reading Challenge<\/strong>: Your challenge will be on going for the whole of this term (6 weeks to go!). I\u00a0am delighted\u00a0to see so many\u00a0of you\u00a0continuing to fill in your Personal Reading Passports. Remember to choose your books carefully to ensure they are at the correct level for you \u2013 not too easy or too hard. You can bring your book into school as this will allow you to read it during our ERIC time.<\/p>\n

Listening & Talking<\/b>: This term you have a solo presentation to complete. You are responsible for planning, organising and preparing your presentation which you will be presenting in class on Tuesday 28th February<\/strong>. Please click here<\/u> <\/u><\/span><\/a>to see the task sheet with all of the details required. If you require a paper copy of the task sheet, please ask me and I will arrange one for you.<\/p>\n

Maths:\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0I <\/strong><\/b>have posted another set of worded problems on your maths homework blog.\u00a0 Please complete\u00a0these in \u00a0your maths homework jotter. As always, please read each question carefully. You should ensure you are showing workings AND\u00a0giving a full sentence answer. This homework is due for Thursday. <\/b><\/p>\n

A high standard of work is being produced from\u00a0the majority\u00a0of you. Well done, keep it up!<\/p>\n

Primary 5 have the opportunity to visit the City Halls in Glasgow \u00a0to be part of the audience for the Ten Pieces concert being held on Wednesday 1st March.\u00a0A letter and consent form\u00a0have been\u00a0issued with all of the relevant information. Please remember to return your consent form and permission slip as soon as possible. We have been very lucky and have already had a volunteer for our parent helper. Thank you.<\/p>\n

  1. P.E. will be on Tuesday and\u00a0Thursday\u00a0<\/strong>this week.\u00a0Please ensure you have a P.E. kit in school.\u00a0Please\u00a0also remember to \u00a0have a bottle of water with you as you will be working hard.<\/li>\n
  2. For those of you who haven\u2019t already done so, please cover all your homework jotters. This helps to keep your jotters in good condition.<\/li>\n
  3. Some of you have already brought\u00a0in an old shirt or tee-shirt to cover your uniform during\u00a0our art activities.\u00a0For those of you have not, we will be working on our River Clyde mural throughout the topic\u00a0so it would be good if you could manage to bring one in. This can be left in school until the end of term\/session if you wish.<\/li>\n
  4. Please remember if anyone at home is (or has been) linked to the River Clyde in any way through work, we would love to hear from them. Please click here<\/span><\/u><\/a>\u00a0for further information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
