Good afternoon\u00a0everyone, I hope you are having a lovely relaxing weekend after\u00a0a busy week in school.\u00a0I hope you are looking forward to another busy week when, among other things, we will be starting our new Clyde in the Classroom topic. Please\u00a0continue reading for your homework and reminders.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>: Please complete\u00a0list\u00a0ie for\u00a0ee\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0ly<\/strong>\u00a0in your spelling homework jotter for\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>. Please continue to write out your spelling words 3 times using SaCaWaC in the same way as we do in class. You should then write a sentence for each of your first 6 spelling words. This week we are concentrating on the V of VCOP – vocabulary<\/strong>, you should have at least one wow word<\/strong> in each sentence. It would be wonderful if you continued to use the other areas of VCOP too, however I will only be focusing on assessing your fabulous vocabulary.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Reading<\/b>: We are continuing with our novel study \u2013 Danny the Champion of the World. As\u00a0discussed in class\u00a0there is no formal written homework to be completed for this. However, please remember if you do not complete the reading you will be unable to take part in the class lesson. Please read chapters\u00a09<\/b> and\u00a010<\/b> for Wednesday 8th February.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you find there are words\u00a0that you\u00a0don\u2019t understand please take a note of them in your Book Detectives jotter (remembering the page number)\u00a0and, if possible, use a dictionary to find\u00a0out their meaning\u00a0. We\u00a0will start our lesson by discussing\u00a0them in class. We have been getting some very interesting words to discuss, including ravenous and decarbonizing!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Personal Reading Challenge<\/strong>: As\u00a0discussed in class this challenge will be ongoing for the whole of this term (9 weeks). I have been really pleased to see so many of you recording your books in your reading passports, keep it up!! Remember it is the quality of the books you read that is important. Please choose carefully to ensure the books you are reading are at the correct level for you \u2013 not too easy or too hard. Remember you can bring your book to school as this will allow you to read it during our ERIC time.<\/p>\n

Maths: \u00a0<\/strong>This week Mrs. O’Neill has posted another set of worded problems on your maths homework blog.\u00a0 Please complete\u00a0these in \u00a0your maths homework jotter. As always, please read each question carefully. You should ensure you are showing workings AND\u00a0<\/strong>giving a full sentence answer. This homework is due for Thursday. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A high standard of work is being produced from\u00a0the majority\u00a0of you. Well done, keep it up!<\/p>\n

  1. Due to Recycling Heroes visiting the school P.E. will only be on Tuesday\u00a0<\/strong>this week.\u00a0Please ensure you have a P.E. kit in school.\u00a0Please\u00a0also remember to \u00a0have a bottle of water with you as you will be working hard.<\/li>\n
  2. If you haven\u2019t already done so, please remember to cover all your homework jotters.<\/li>\n
  3. If possible, please remember to bring in an old shirt or tee-shirt which is big enough to cover your uniform during\u00a0our art activities. This can be left in school until the end of term\/session if you wish.\u00a0 Also any old newspapers would be great for covering your desk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
