{"id":10309,"date":"2017-01-19T08:22:19","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T07:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/?p=10309"},"modified":"2017-01-20T12:13:28","modified_gmt":"2017-01-20T11:13:28","slug":"substance-misuse-research-task","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bishopton\/2017\/01\/19\/substance-misuse-research-task\/","title":{"rendered":"Substance Misuse Research Task"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I understand the effect that a range of substances including tobacco and alcohol can have on the body. <b>HWB 2-38a<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I know that popular culture, the media and peer groups as well as my own attitudes and values can influence how I feel about substance use and recognise the impact this may have on my actions. <b>HWB 2-39a<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I know that alcohol and drugs can affect people\u2019s ability to make decisions. <b>HWB 2-40a<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I can identify the different kinds of risks associated with the use and misuse of a range of substances. <b>HWB 2-41a<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I know of actions I can take to help someone in an emergency. <b>HWB 2-42a<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>I can:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explain some of the effects that substances have on the body.<\/li>\n<li>Explain how the media influences our drug taking culture.<\/li>\n<li>Can justify their own feelings towards drug taking.<\/li>\n<li>Speculate on the possible outcomes of specific actions<\/li>\n<li>Construct a list of consequences caused by alcohol and drug taking.<\/li>\n<li>Present their conclusions associated with the use and misuse of substances.<\/li>\n<li>Explaining the emergency situation to the operator and follow instructions given.<\/li>\n<li>Adapting and applying first aid skills to different emergency situations.<\/li>\n<li>Match people who can help to a particular emergency and justify why they have selected that person \/ service.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and produce a piece of work which demonstrates what I have learned to their peer group e.g. a drama\u00a0\u00a0performance or song.<\/li>\n<li>Critiquing and criticising a piece of work which demonstrates what\u00a0 have learned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Using the website links listed below, your task is to create an a radio show to inform your classmates of the <\/b><b>dangers of substance misuse.
