Our P.E. days are Monday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Miss Potter will cover the class on a Tuesday midday while Mrs Fulton plans lots of fun activities for the class.<\/p>\n

Class Dojo<\/u><\/p>\n

Please join our class Dojo to keep up to date with class news, photos and more! You can use Dojo to view the points your child has been given and to view our class Dojo story.<\/p>\n

P2 Homework<\/u><\/p>\n

Each week your child will receive reading and phonics homework.<\/p>\n

Phonics will follow on from the sounds learned in class via\u00a0 Monster Phonics.
\nThey will be sent home with a maths grid each term and should complete one ‘brick’ per week.<\/p>\n

Reminder<\/u><\/p>\n

Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced! There is a lost property box at the school office should you ever wish to check for items that have been missing for more than a few days. We will do our best to send all items home with your child each day!<\/p>\n

Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Literacy\"\"<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n

We will be focusing on turn taking and non-verbal cues in talking and listening and will do this through circle time and games.<\/p>\n

In writing, we are working on our description skills and will do this through our Talk for Writing story, Billy Goats Gruff.\u00a0 \u00a0All of our grammar will be covered through Talk for Writing too.<\/p>\n

For non-fiction, we will be writing an information text.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Numeracy and Maths\"\"<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n

In numeracy, we will be starting with place value and patterns and relationships.\u00a0 After this, we will move on to estimating and rounding, measurement and adding and subtracting.<\/p>\n

Health & Wellbeing<\/u><\/p>\n

In P.E we are working on possession games with Mr Martindale and fitness with Mrs Fulton.
\nWe will also be working on mindfulness and growth mindset.<\/p>\n

Broad General Education<\/u><\/p>\n

Our Global Goal this year is Goal 15: Life on Land.<\/p>\n

We will be working on our French skills and will also be taking part in drama.<\/p>\n

Other topics this term will be chosen by the children, following their interests.<\/p>\n

Play<\/u><\/p>\n

Play is a very important part of how children learn and our environment promotes challenge and enjoyment and personalisation and choice through opportunities to explore different activities, materials and contexts. Opportunities for the children to be imaginative and creative both indoor and outdoor are provided daily.<\/p>\n
