Welcome to P7<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year our teacher is Mr Elliott.<\/p>\n

Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Friday.<\/p>\n

On these days, please remember to come to school with appropriate P.E kit to change into and all jewellery removed. Also, those with long hair, please remember to bring a hair tie.<\/p>\n

Class Dojo<\/u><\/p>\n

Please join our class dojo to keep up to date with class news, photos and more! You can use dojo to view the points your child has been given and to view our class dojo story.<\/p>\n

Homework<\/u><\/p>\n

Homework will be issued weekly. Homework will be issued at the start of the week and should be completed by the end of the week. Homework diaries have log in details for various programmes to support learning.<\/p>\n

It is at your discretion if you wish to complete homework and submissions will no longer be recorded.\u00a0 Any time spent on learning at home is greatly appreciated!<\/p>\n

Reminder<\/u><\/p>\n

Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term\u2026<\/p>\n

Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be continuing with our weekly spelling lessons, embedding the spelling rules throughout the week.\u00a0 The children will learn a new sound each week and complete tasks throughout the week that re-enforce this.\u00a0 Talk for Writing will also continue all grammar will be taught via Talk for Writing. Our text this term is called Kidnapped! An excellent story full of suspense and drama.<\/p>\n

The children will continue with our Accelerated Reading program and this will be used for homework books as well.<\/p>\n

Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n

In numeracy we will start by focusing on Place Value.\u00a0 We will then move onto Estimating and Rounding and then incorporating Addition and Subtraction.<\/p>\n

Later in the term, we will focus on measurement and Multiplication and Division.<\/p>\n

We will re-enforce these concepts through TTRS and through an excellent site called Corbett Primary Maths.<\/p>\n

Health and Wellbeing<\/u><\/p>\n

We will continue with our PATHS approach to teach social and emotional learning.\u00a0 We will be focusing on Mindfulness and Growth Mindset.<\/p>\n

Miss McManus will take the class on a Monday afternoon for French and HWB.<\/p>\n

BGE<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be working on a project linked to Global Goal 10: Reducing Inequalities.\u00a0 We will also be looking at Digital Literacy, Cyber Resilience and Living Things.\u00a0 This term, Drama and Art will be our focus in the arts. We will also commence our popular IDL topic of WWII around the time of Remembrance Day, where we will investigate some poems written during both wars and understand the story behind the Poppy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
