Please remember to come prepared for all weathers, we are hoping for nicer weather this term. Remove all jewellery please.<\/p>\n<p><u>Class Dojo<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We will continue to update and share information on our work in class through Class Dojo.\u00a0 Children are enjoying sharing some of their learning through their pupil profile and we also welcome news and events from home that you share on their profile page.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.classdojo.com\/ul\/p\/addKid?target=class&#038;class=68ac72e1f09d84d425433de0<\/p>\n<p><u>Homework<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Homework will be issued weekly at the beginning of each week and should be completed by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Every Monday, I will post a homework diary on ClassDojo, which will include the week\u2019s homework tasks and clear instructions on what needs to be completed. Homework diaries will also contain login details for a variety of programmes and resources that can be used to support learning at home.<\/p>\n<p>Completing homework is entirely at your discretion, and homework submissions will no longer be formally recorded. We understand that family life can be busy, and any time your child spends engaging with learning at home is greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, as always, for your continued support!<\/p>\n<p><u>Reminder<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Literacy<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Primary 6 have been developing their writing through a Tale of Fear in Talk 4 Writing, with a particular focus on creating suspense and building tension within their stories.<\/p>\n<p>We will continue with Guided Reading sessions each week, developing a range of reading skills through a variety of activities and Accelerated Reading texts throughout the term.<\/p>\n<p>Our spelling input will take place on a Friday, followed by daily top-up activities throughout the week to reinforce and consolidate new spelling patterns and strategies.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Numeracy<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This term, we will begin our Numeracy and Mathematics learning with a focus on Place Value and Number. We will then explore a range of other topics, including Estimating and Rounding, 2D and 3D Shape, Multiplication and Division.<\/p>\n<p>We will also take part in weekly Number Talks to develop our mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as Times Tables Rockstars sessions to build fluency and confidence with our times tables.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Health &amp; Wellbeing<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Primary 6 will continue with the Zones of Regulation programme from last session. Through this programme, we will develop our understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Wellbeing, exploring strategies to help us recognise, understand and manage our emotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">We will also explore Growth Mindset, developing a positive attitude towards learning and understanding the importance of perseverance, resilience and learning from mistakes. We will consider how our mindset can help us overcome challenges and recognise that our abilities can develop through effort and practice.<\/p>\n<p>We will also cover the Substance Misuse aspect of the curriculum, developing our knowledge and understanding of making safe and healthy choices.<\/p>\n<p>PE lessons will be conducted twice weekly. This term we are doing basketball, fitness and football.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">BGE<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This term, we will cover Global Goals, Digital Literacy, Cyber Resilience, Living Things, a Novel Study, and an Artist Study focusing on Henri Matisse.<\/p>\n<p>Through these areas, we will develop our knowledge, skills and understanding through a variety of engaging, creative and practical learning experiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Welcome to Primary 6 Our teacher is Miss McManus.
