Welcome to P5\/4<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year our teacher is Mr Grant.<\/p>\n

Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

On these days, please remember to come to school with appropriate P.E kit to change into and all jewellery removed. Also, those with long hair, please remember to bring a hair tie.<\/p>\n

Please join our class dojo to keep up to date with class news, photos and more! You can use dojo to view the points your child has been given and to view our class dojo story.<\/p>\n

Homework<\/u><\/p>\n

Homework will be issued weekly. Homework will be issued at the start of the week and should be completed by the end of the week. Homework diaries have log in details for various programmes to support learning.<\/p>\n

It is at your discretion if you wish to complete homework and submissions will no longer be recorded.\u00a0 Any time spent on learning at home is greatly appreciated!<\/p>\n

Reminder<\/u><\/p>\n

Please ensure that all items that your child brings to school are clearly marked with their name. This is very helpful if items get misplaced.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the exciting things we will be learning this term\u2026<\/p>\n

Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be continuing with our weekly spelling lessons, embedding the spelling rules throughout the week.\u00a0 The children will learn a new sound each week and complete tasks throughout the week that re-enforce this.\u00a0 Talk for Writing will also continue all grammar will be taught via Talk for Writing. This term we are working on writing Suspense stories with a character description focus. The children will begin our Accelerated Reading program and this will be used for homework books as well.<\/p>\n

Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n

In numeracy we will start by focusing on Division and Fractions. As the term progresses we will work on Area\/Perimeter and Money.<\/p>\n

We will re-enforce these concepts through TTRS and various active learning methods.<\/p>\n

Mr Martindale will lead a separate Maths topic on a Tuesday Area\/Perimeter and Probability.<\/p>\n

Health and Wellbeing<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be focusing on Mindfulness and Growth Mindset. We will continue embedding our Zones of Regulation with the children through weekly lessons.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

BGE<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be working on a Scottish Topic: The Road to the World Cup where we will cover a variety of Social Studies, Technology and Expressive Arts outcomes.\u00a0 We will also be looking at Digital Literacy and the Water Cycle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
