Head Teacher’s Blog

We had a very busy week starting Monday 19th November celebrating Book Week Scotland. All our children took part in a range of fun activities to promote Literacy and in particular reading.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and carers who volunteered to be our ‘Secret Readers’. You certainly proved very popular with our children. Please see the pictures below showing some of the range of activities that took place.

An entertaining visit from author Alan Dapre.

Our school librarians organised a second hand bookshop.

And raised £48.50 for charity.

Looking forward, the busy run up to Christmas starts on Friday 23rd November with our Parent Council Christmas Fayre. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the evening finishes at 7 p.m. We look forward to the usual high level of support from our children and their families.

Rehearsals for our Nativity and Christmas Show are underway with three performances over Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th December.

On Wednesday 12th December our annual school trip to the theatre takes place when we visit the Beacon Theatre in Greenock to watch ‘Aladdin’.

Christmas parties take place on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th December.

A very busy time for everyone at Bargarran Primary!

I would like to thank our Parent Council for their generosity in providing the food for the Christmas parties and a present for all of our 230 pupils.

Finally, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the staff and children of Bargarran Primary.
