Hello Primary 2,
Welcome back to Bargarran. It is lovely to be back and to see all your happy faces again. Everyone has settled in well to our new routine. We will word hard and have lots of fun learning together this year!
If you need to contact me please put a note inside your child’s red folder or if it is more urgent please phone the school office.
Class Learning
We are busy revising all our Jolly Phonics double sounds from Primary 1 and using these to make 3,4 and 5 letter words. Some children have been introduced to new sounds including short vowel sounds: a,e,i,o,u.
We are learning about adjectives (describing words) and using these in our writing. Pupils are encouraged to write 2 or 3 sentences and we are working on using capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
In Maths we are working on recognising, counting and ordering numbers up to 100. We have been learning about place value using Tens and Ones. We are also having regular SEAL lessons as well as revising addition and subtraction up to 20.
We continue to encourage learning through play in Primary 2. Remember children learn a lot of skills through their daily play:
