Happy New Year to our Primary 5 and all our families!

From this week (11.1.21)we will be moving back onto online learning. This will take place through Microsoft Teams. You  have been provided with a number of paper based activities and books in your red folder. Please do not complete all these activities all at once. These will be set as daily tasks through Teams.

Mr Martindale will be online and available to you every school day on Teams to set and receive tasks and Mrs McGlinchey will be working in the school hubs on Thursdays and Fridays.

We know this is both a strange and difficult time for you all but please know we are still here for you and we are still a team.  If you need us during school time, just message, we’re only a button click away!

It is important to stay active during this time and again Joe Wicks will be doing his 9am PE lessons every Monday/Wednesday and Friday so you can do these live or watch at a later time.  They are both fun and very active and leave you feeling energized after (and maybe a little sore!)

If you’d prefer to do some more calming exercise then yoga stretching is also strength building and good for the mind too.   Cosmic Kids has some great yoga stories to listen to and follow. Namaste!

Or you could maybe create your own weekly gym time table and include different activities for the week.  Activities may include; go for a walk, a run, go out on your scooter, a bike ride, play in the garden, sledge (when the snow returns), play keepie upies, skipping or set up a chalk obstacle course to keep you busy.  Be creative, be active but always stay stafe!

Our Health and Well being remains fundamentally important to us all at this stage so please remember to look after your minds and encourage each other and try your best.  Remember how we always valued good EFFORT every day in class.

Another activity to try this month is the Kindness Calendar for January 2021. Try to do something every day that is kind to your mind or someone else.  If this pandemic is teaching us anything it is surely to be more present in the now and it’s the little things that matter and will see us through, together.  Our mental and physical health is our wealth.  Be good to yourself and each other!

Remember our Rainbow Day when we first returned to school.  Our super bright bunting for our classroom with lovely positive messages just made us all stop, think and smile!  Keep smiling!

Nothing stays the same for long, this will all pass and we will be together again.
