Miss. Sinclair is our class teacher this year.
Welcome back to school Primary 7/6 and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas break.
As you know, we will be learning from home for the next 3 weeks, from Monday 11th January. I know this can be challenging, but I know you will rise to that challenge and be all you can be!
Home learning packs have been prepared for you, these include a range of resources and worksheets you will need over the next few weeks. The tasks will be posted on Microsoft teams each day, please try not to work through the learning packs at your own pace and check teams daily for your tasks for that day. There will be: a literacy, numeracy and BGE task daily. You will also be able to submit these tasks on teams to receive feedback.
On our teams page, you will also find additional challenges and activities in the various different channels. Some activities will not be included in your home learning pack. We will also have regular teams meeting check-ins too. These will be:
Monday @ 11AM
Thursday (an optional drop in for questions) @2PM
If you have any issues accessing teams or any other queries, please contact me via email
You can contact me for help within these contact hours:
Monday – Thursday
9am – 4pm
9am – 12pm
How can I help my child?
Encouraging daily reading whether it is an audiobook, ebook or something at home is very beneficial. Some books may be available for tests on the accelerated reading website below. Asking your child to share their 3 sharing is helpful in letting them analyse what they have read. These are:
Questions/What they did not understand about the book.
Any connections they can make between the book and their own lives.
Daily mental maths practice such as times tables, adding/subtracting or maths games on sumdog and topmarks are useful for supporting number sense and mental agility.
Health and Wellbeing:
It is important to look after our health and wellbeing at this time. I know it can be challenging, but setting weekly SMART goals and being kind to our mind can help us through some difficult times.
There are additional wellbeing resources uploaded to our class team under the Health and Wellbeing section.
