Spelling: issued on a Monday due on a Friday. See homework diary for tasks.
Maths: alternate between jotter work and Sumdog.
Reading: 2 groups are using ORT books whilst the other 2 groups are using Accelerated Reading only.
Literacy and Modern Languages:
Many of the pupils in P7 have completed Oxford Reading Tree and will now be using Accelerated Reading in place of reading homework. 2 groups have yet to complete ORT and will have reading homework.
Writing will be taught whole class..
We will continue using Jolly Spelling and Grammar.
Numeracy and Mathematics :
In block 5 we will be undertaking lots of assessments as we near the end of second level numeracy.. WE have national assessments to complete as well as assessments for the High School. Any time left will be used to reinforce concepts.
Health and Wellbeing :
We will be continuing with our PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies). We will also be looking at RSHPE.
Broad General Education :
We will be looking at the History of Ideas for Science in block 5, focusing on individuals who have made significant contributions to the world of Science. So far we have studied Albert Einstein and will be moving on the learn about Charles Darwin.
We will also be doing lots of expressive arts in the lead up to our Leavers Service.
Miss L Reid will be in class on a Wednesday teaching is Technologies.
We will be continuing taking part in the JASS (Junior Award Scheme for Schools). An information leaflet has been sent home to tell you all about this exciting opportunity.
How Can You Help at Home? :
Check bags for letters and homework diaries for any homework and school events.
Label all clothing/ sand shoes – even in P7!!

During maths week P7 went out on a hunt for angles in our environment because we have learning about angles.
