Success at squash
Congratulations to Jenna Fraser and Megan Money – both of S1 – who gained 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the Strathgryffe Squash Club District Tournament.
S6 Burns Supper
This year’s Burns Supper will take place in the school hall on Wednesday 23rd January at 5pm. Tickets are £6 each.
Senior School Photographs
Pupils in S5 and S6 have been given their order forms for individual photographs. The forms must be returned before Thursday 25 January with payment enclosed.
Group photographs will NOW take place on Monday 28 January 2013.
Int 2 English Supported Study
Miss Herd is running an Int 2 Supp Study class starting on Monday 14th January. All welcome
Senior School Photograph
There will be a senior school photograph taken on Monday 14 January 2013. It will be a group photograph of S5 and one of S6. Where it is not compulsory to buy a copy of the photograph it is expected that all senior pupils will be in the photographs.
Pupils MUST wear WHITE shirt and senior school ties.
HE/ FE Fair
After the success of last year’s event the school will again be organising a HE/FE Fair. It will be on 17 June 2013.
The event will see representatives for universitites, colleges and training establishments come to the school. Pupils who are currently in S4 and S5 will have the opportunity to meet and discuss options for post Johnstone HS. It is hoped to expand the event and have representatives from industry, the services and other professional bodies. As with last year there will be a representatives from SAAS the student finance body. Look out for more details in future parent newsletters.
Parent Focus Group
The school would like to hear from parents who would like to be part of focus group. The first meeting is at the school on Monday 21 January at 7pm. The Head Teacher will be present and he would welcome your views on a number of topics. If you are interested can you contact the school by telephone or email after the Christmas holidays.
Christmas Food Parcel Update
The Salvation Army collected over 300 items today for inclusion in their food parcel service. A tremendous effort from all four houses saw the following

Mull 90 items
Skye 62 items
Arran 50 items
These will be converted to house points. Thanks to all who contributed.
Higher History Student Revision Conference
This will take place on 7th March 2013.
