ALl S2 pupils will be taking part in our S2 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) on the morning of 2st February.  Pupils will get the chance to speak to scientists, engineers, medical professionals about their career paths and choices they made at school.

We are still looking for any parents in any STEM type career to come along and talk to our S2 pupils on that day.

In the afternoon S4 – S6 pupils, who have an interest in these types of careers, will have the opportunity to talk to our STEM visitors about life at university or future career opportunities.

Students are starting or about to start the Paper 2 element of the Higher History course. This text book is excellent and will be used in class, we would encourage you buy for your son/daughter; Migration and Empire 1830-1939, Simon Wood, Hodder Gibson. It can be bought from Amazon or any book shop.

Just a reminder that a detailed plan for the Higher History extended essay must be handed in for the first lesson back after the prelims!
A final draft must be completed for February 25th.

Congratulations to Jenna Fraser and Megan Money – both of S1 – who gained 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the Strathgryffe Squash Club District Tournament.

Miss Herd is running an Int 2 Supp Study class starting on Monday 14th January.  All welcome

There will be a senior school photograph taken on Monday 14 January 2013.  It will be a group photograph of S5 and one of S6.  Where it is not compulsory to buy a copy of the photograph it is expected that all senior pupils will be in the photographs.

Pupils MUST wear WHITE shirt and senior school ties.

The school welcomed author Linda Strachan to the school on Wednesday.  She entertained a selection of S2 pupils with a talk on creative writing and research. Thanks to Miss Herd of the English Department for all the organisation.
