The school would like to hear from parents who would like to be part of focus group. The first meeting is at the school on Monday 21 January at 7pm. The Head Teacher will be present and he would welcome your views on a number of topics. If you are interested can you contact the school by telephone or email after the Christmas holidays.

Christmas Food Parcel Update
The Salvation Army collected over 300 items today for inclusion in their food parcel service. A tremendous effort from all four houses saw the following

Mull 90 items
Skye 62 items
Arran 50 items
These will be converted to house points. Thanks to all who contributed.

Author visit
The school welcomed author Linda Strachan to the school on Wednesday. She entertained a selection of S2 pupils with a talk on creative writing and research. Thanks to Miss Herd of the English Department for all the organisation.
Christmas Carols
44 girls, ranging from S1-S3 are holding a charity performance in the ‘Piazza Shopping Centre’ in Paisley on Friday 14 Deecember as part of Johnstone High School’s Junior Choir, taken by Miss Keenan. They will be fundraising for the St Vincent’s Centre. They will be singing well known Christmas songs and chart songs.
Christmas Food Parcels
Thanks to all pupils, parents and staff who have donated items for the school’s Christmas food parcel service. There is still time to donate items and remember every items means 1 point for your house in the race for the house shield.
A star in the making!
Congratulations to Morgan Spence of S2 who has been invited to produce a music video for legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold. The DJ, who has supported Madonna on previous world tours, spotted Morgan’s numerous outstanding videos which are posted on YouTube. As such Morgan’s talents will now be showcased to a much wider audience. In addition look out over the Festive period for an article on Scotland Today about this talented pupil.

Time Capsule Competition
Congratulations to Victoria Dock of S3 and Rebecca Ann Houston of S2 for winning the Time Capsule competition. They suggested 12 items to be placed in the time capsule to be buried in the memorial garden and then be opened in 2037! They both won Braehead vouchers for their efforts.
