Rita was born in Galway, Ireland, in 1955 and came from a family of 13 children. Life wasn&#8217;t easy and Rita left school when she was 14. She started writing aged 20 and has published numerous books and plays. This poem is about her early life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff\">We have talked about using poetry to share our own unique worlds and perspectives.
