When I was younger
\nI wanted to travel back in time
\nBack to the days when princesses stayed in castles

Rapunzel didn\u2019t go outside in the cold wind to get fresh air
\nShe leaned out her window, embracing the sun
\nAnd danced around in her own safe space<\/p>\n
Sleeping Beauty didn\u2019t wake up at seven in the morning
\nShe slept in
\nFor days, weeks, months, years<\/p>\n
But now I see that I wouldn\u2019t want an arranged marriage,
\nOr brush my hair 24\/7
\nOr be forced into the public’s eye of \u2018Beautiful\u2019<\/p>\n
So I have another fantasy,
\nI want to be in the 1880\u2019s
\nAnd be a certain 15 girl<\/p>\n
Who has been through so much trauma
\nBut she is still strong
\nAnd have so many opportunities at her fingertips<\/p>\n
To have a thrilling life which is nothing but her and her dream

\nSo many identities
\nOne person
\nShe has so much power<\/p>\n
But only if she used it in the right way.
\nFor what she doesn\u2019t realise
\nBut knows deep down is right<\/p>\n
She could make the world a better place for her gender
\nHelp girls not be threatened to
\n\u2018Get a well-paying job\u2019 instead of
\n\u2018Follow your dreams\u2019 like Hetty did<\/p>\n
Because so many people tell young girls that
\nSo they don\u2019t need to worry
\nAbout getting paid 87p instead of \u00a31 and so many other issues<\/p>\n
Hetty could solve that if she existed now
\nHetty used her potential to look after her loved ones and get a job<\/p>\n
She used her potential in the right way
\nBut the wrong way
\nIf she existed nowadays it would be different<\/p>\n
I want to be Hetty Feather<\/p>\n
