The Cluttered Table.

A girl, tired after school, flung her bag off her shoulders and onto the table.

She unzipped her bag and and took her packed lunch out, she sat that on the table too.

She grabbed her water bottle and sat that on the table.

She took her homework out, she sat it on the table as she told herself she’d do it later.

The smell of dinner cooking, she sat that on the table.

The sound of her brother asking where his work clothes where, she put that there.

The taste of homemade chicken fried rice, she decided to place that there too.

The smell of wax melts burning, she sat that there too,

Four times seven is twenty eight, plus 2 is thirty. She put that on the table.

The conversation she had earlier that she couldn’t get out of her head, she sat that on the table.
