I want to be a horse,
galloping through the meadows with my family.
I want to be a horse,
free from all evil,
feeling the cold breeze.
I want to be a horse,
bold and brave
watching every sunset.
Don’t tell me how to do my hair
or what to wear.
Don’t tell me to do jobs
or how to hold a knife and fork.
I want to be a horse,
not to be told what to do.
I want to be a horse,
not to be annoyed by people
and not to be afraid.
I want to be a horse,
not to be told what to do
or worrying about what to wear.
I’m going to be free
and I’m going to be a brave, bold, horse.

Rhona, I like the title and the picture it makes me smile!
Rhona your poem is fantastic! I really like the line “I want to be a horse, bold and brave watching every sunset”. It has the effect of left feeling astonished afterwards.
