Early Morning Kayaking 

There is a version of me 
that can solve a rubix cube 
in a minute and a half. 
 
 There is a version of me 
who likes waking up 
early in the morning 
to go kayaking. 
 
There is a version of me 
who would eat sushi 
 all day long. 
 
The best version of me 
is starting to come 
and will be here in secondary 
but is not here yet, 
so I must still wait for her 
 patiently to come. 
 
She will know how to 
roll freely in a kayak. 
 
She will know how to wake up 
 as early as she pleases 
without an alarm. 
 
She will know how to 
do the splits all the way down, 
and how to do a chin stand 
without it hurting. 
 
She travels round the world 
with her best friend 
exploring new places. 
 
She writes her own music 
to play at concerts. 
 
She swims lengths underwater 
without taking a breath. 
 
The first me 
likes crunching raw pasta 
in my mouth 
eating one piece at a time.
