Welcome to Glenlyon Primary School

And a very warm welcome to our website! Glenlyon is situated in Highland Perthshire, twenty one miles from the nearest town of Aberfeldy.

The glen is widely known as Scotland’s ‘longest, loneliest and loveliest’ glen, and our school is situated half way up Glenlyon at Bridge of Balgie.

We are a multi composite class, with a current roll of 14 Primary and 3 Nursery children. Our school has been extensively redeveloped in recent years, and we also have a new ‘Outdoor Learning Classroom’, which was funded by our Parent Council and local community. Active and experiential learning is key to our curriculum, and we particularly love to learn outdoors through our weekly Forest Schools programme, using the beautiful woodlands on our doorstep.

We worked hard to create this website and use it to give the ‘Big Picture’ of our school and our learning. It is also a great way to showcase the many achievements of our talented pupils, and an effective way of communicating with parents and friends of our school.
