{"id":346,"date":"2013-11-15T13:01:14","date_gmt":"2013-11-15T12:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/pk\/couparangusprimaryschool\/?p=346"},"modified":"2013-11-15T13:02:02","modified_gmt":"2013-11-15T12:02:02","slug":"european-day-of-languages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/pk\/couparangusprimaryschool\/2013\/11\/15\/european-day-of-languages\/","title":{"rendered":"European Day of Languages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday 26 September we celebrated European Day of Languages in the following ways:<\/p>\n<p>Children in<strong> TR1<\/strong> studied the map of Europe and looked closely at three countries.\u00a0\u00a0 At snack time they enjoyed sampling some of the countries\u2019 traditional foods.<\/p>\n<p>Our morning nursery joined <strong>Primary 1<\/strong> to learn two French songs \u2013 Frere Jacques and Savez-Vous plantez les chouz?\u00a0\u00a0 The afternoon class learned Polish words for farm animals.<\/p>\n<p>Children in <strong>Primary 2<\/strong> can say hello, goodbye, please and thank you in French.\u00a0\u00a0 The can also count from 1 to 10 in French.<\/p>\n<p>Children in <strong>Primary 3<\/strong> learned a new Spanish song.<\/p>\n<p>Children in <strong>TR2<\/strong> learned Polish words for greetings, colours, numbers to 10 and drew the Polish flag.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They also read the story of Goldilocks in German.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 4<\/strong> children can now say the days of the week in Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>Kornelia taught the boys and girls in <strong>Primary 5<\/strong> how to sing Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in Polish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 6<\/strong> and some of their parents had a German breakfast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary 7<\/strong> joined up with their \u2018Wee Pals\u2019 in Primary 1.\u00a0\u00a0 The Polish children taught the rest of the children the Polish names for animals.\u00a0\u00a0 They then sang Old McDonald Had a Farm in Polish.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday 26 September we celebrated European Day of Languages in the following ways: Children in TR1 studied the map of Europe and looked closely at three countries.\u00a0\u00a0 At snack time they enjoyed sampling some of the countries\u2019 traditional foods.
