The primary 7 class have all returned safely after spending a fun filled educational visit to York. The school teamed up with Rattray & Kirkmichael primary 7s. On Monday the children and staff were picked up from the school and headed down through the boarders and spent the afternoon at Beamish, a living museum of early Britain.
Tuesday took the children into the city of York where they visited the Minster and shopped in the Shambles. After making some purchases they had a cruise on the ouse, followed by a Ghostwalk. In the afternoon the children visited the Jorvik centre where they learned about the Vikings.
On Wednesday the children visited Eden Camp Prisoner of War Camp, where they learned about World War 2. The group then returned to Scarborough to visit the Sea Life Centre and a trip to the beach. The class participated in a sandcastle competition which was then judged by the staff.
The class spent the day at Flamingo Land on Thursday. The all had a great time and didn’t want to come away from the rides. We also visited the zoo where the children learnt about various different animals and habitats.
The children and staff all had a great time on their trip away. They will all be glad to get back to school on Monday.
