As a school community we aim to support all pupil to self-regulate their emotions- to be in the \u2018neutral zone\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>3 Step \u2018Name it to tame it\u2019 process:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Encourage pupils to recognise how they are feeling both physically and mentally to develop their emotional literacy.<\/li>\n<li>Name the emotion \u2026\u2026eg. ( I can see that you are sad as you are crying)<\/li>\n<li>Co-regulate by engaging child in self-regulation strategy to help them return to the \u2018neutral zone\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Self-Regulation Strategies<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Self-Regulation strategies we use in our school include:<\/p>\n<p>-Breathing techniques<\/p>\n<p>-Zen Den<\/p>\n<p>-Quiet Space<\/p>\n<p>-Self Soothe Boxes<\/p>\n<p>-Walk around School<\/p>\n<p>-Fresh Air<\/p>\n<p>-Shrink it, shrink it, flick it<\/p>\n<p>-Five Senses<\/p>\n<p>-Thankful Coat<\/p>\n<p>-Power Poses<\/p>\n<p>-Speak to yourself as you would a loved one<\/p>\n<p>-Distraction<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Rest in the Book Nook<\/p>\n<p>-Talking &amp; sharing<\/p>\n<p>-\u2018They are low, you go high\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u2018Stop sign\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Reflective Conversation &amp; Future Support- \u2018Goal, Plan, Do, Review\u2019<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"426\">\n<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Overall strategic framework:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Step 1:\u00a0 Goal (Identify Obstacles)<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Plan<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Do<\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Review<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><u>Step 1:Goal<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Support our pupils to identify a SMART goal eg.
