Outdoor Learning at Viewlands …

Learning need not take place solely within a classroom …the outdoor environment has massive potential for learning.  Viewlands is extremely fortunate to have a rich environment around us that will allow children the opportunity to use their local community to enhance their learning.  We are currently developing progressive outdoor learning experiences that will be planned for from Nursery through to P7.

The leaflet below contains fantastic information for parents and contains links that will further explain the rationale and principles behind outdoor learning …

P4 Harvest Assembly 2013 …

On Friday the 4th of October P4D & P4G hosted a fantstic Harvest Assembly for children, family and friends. The theme was ‘The Great British Bake off..’. It was a fantastic event that shared the meaning of harvest and the importance of working together to ensure a healthy future for all! Throughout the preparation for the assembly, our P4 classes collected food donations that were then taken to Perth Foodbank with the help of Rev. Jim Stewart, Letham St Marks. This allowed the children to see where their donations were going and who they would help.
The support from within the Viewlands Community was amazing – Mrs Gellatly, Miss Dunnett and the children would like to say a BIG thank you!
