Mrs Champion and P1/2/3 would like to say a big thank you to all the parent helpers who came with us on our recent trips to Tesco’s, Edinburgh Zoo and the Commonwealth Day.
This included Mrs McLaren, Mrs Thomas, Mr Dawson, Mrs Speed and Ms Taylor.
We have been learning measure in class. We have done volume. Some of us have been looking at litres and half litres, while others have been measuring with cups and spoons
We have also been looking at weight. Some of us have been measuring weight with kg and half kg, while others have weighed with cubes, pegs and beans.
We are now measuring length. Some of us are using metres and half metres, while others have been using hands and feet.
We had a great time toady when the Barrow Band came and visited to us!We learned all about different fruit and veg. We were treated to songs and sang along with some.We also made pictures of different fruits to out on their barrow. In the afternoon we watched the whole show and we joined in and performed in one of their songs about Kiwi fruit. Enjoy the photos!!
P1/2/3 have made a wormery to see how the worms mix the soil and make compost.
We went outside hunting worms and found it very difficult to find any because the ground was so dry. One was brought in from home and so we put it in our wormery. To make the wormery, we put layers of sand and soil into it and then added some peelings on top.
Hopefully we will soon see the worms mixing the layers up.
