Primary 6/7

As part of our Great Tech Race we took part in Lego Mindstorm Workshop with Lego robots.P6/7 pupil holding a Lego robot.  Pupils programming the robot through a computer.We had to programme them on the computer to carry out different challenges. We ended up with a robot disco. Pupils in front of Lego mindstorm track waiting for the robot disco to start.“That was really fun!” We could programme it to go anywhere!”

Earlier:  So far this year we have been on a few trips – the latest being to the Blackwatch Museum. The children learned to examine primary evidence and find out more about our local regiment. This is part of our WWII study in Term 2.Examining photos from WWII

At the end of Term 1 we visited the Web Walk as part of our Space study to understand how we contribute to the waste accumulating on our planet as seen from the International Space Station.Pupils racing to recycle the items in correct bins

We also visited Quarrymill with P2’s to help teach them about wildlife. We will do more of this later in the school year.Pupils from both classes at Quarrymill
