The ‘Charighties’ Group are organising a ‘Kilts for Kids’ day in support of Children 1st. Pupils and staff are invited to wear a kilt or something tartan to school and donate £1. Children 1st is a Scottish charity who helps children who have difficult lives.
Kilty Cookies will also be for sale.

Many thanks to everyone who helped raise over £60 in support of the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal. The Royal British Legion is the national custodian of Remembrance, a role which ensures that those who gave their lives for peace and freedom are remembered.

Primary 1,2 are very excited about their visit to Perth & Kinross’s WEBWalk (Waste Education Boardwalk) later this term.  There will be a tour around the displays and interactive games & activities to help us learn about the problems of litter and landfill and learn about the types of material that we can recycle.

The class have already been discussing the importance of recycling and this was the focus for their ‘show & tell’ this week.  The children have been very creative & informative. Did you know for example….that 25 plastic bottles went into making this fleece?

We love the mask & fishing rods boys!

P5,6,7 are looking forward to a day of outdoor active learning on Thursday 29th September.

Good luck to Forgandenny football team who are taking part in a 7 a-side tournament at Auchterarder on Friday 30th September.

The Charity and Rights Respecting Group organised a dress down day for pupils and staff on Friday 30th September. They came to school wearing something green and had juice and a cake. Donations of £1 per family were invited, and a brilliant £86 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support .

Blogging for Assessment

Shannah, Caitlin, Chris (former pupil – now Perth High), Mrs Duffy and Mr Donnachie yesterday attended and presented at the Scottish Learning Festival at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow. We were sharing our schools work on blogging entitled Blogging for Assessment with an international audience of over 90 delagates at the conference. In fact we were fully booked which was awesome!

 Mr Donnachie and Mrs Duffy explained the reasons for blogging at Forgandenny and the children shared there own blogs and blogging skills with the audience. Chris, Caitlin and Shannah spoke with great confidence and if they were nervous they did not show it. They were a credit to the school and we would like to say a huge thanks and well done for all their hard work.  Below are some of the pictures from the day
