Well done to the Green Beans – Forgandenny’s Eco Warriors. Last week they were awarded the schools’ 2nd Green Flag – a huge achievement. The new flag is now proudly flying in the school grounds. Well done to everyone involved.

Curling
Primary 5,6,7 enjoyed two afternoons of curling this term. It was a great opportunity to try something different. We would like to thank Claire at Dewars and her volunteer coaches for a great experience. If any pupils would like to develop their curling skills further, there are sessions for juniors on Tuesday evenings until the end of March.
(It is advisable to call Dewars to confirm dates & times 01738 624188).
Cross Country
Well done to all the runners that took part in the Cross Country competition held at Scone Racecourse. All the training with Fabienne Thomson from Strathallan and Mrs Roffe, our PE specialist, was great preparation and you should all be very proud of yourselves. A special mention must go to Shannah, who came 2nd in the Primary 7 girls race – a super achievement. Hundreds of pupils from all over Perth & Kinross took part in the morning. Thank you to all family & friends who wrapped up and came along to support and cheer on the runners.
Creative Day of Dance
Forgandenny pupils put on a great performance in Perth Concert Hall as part of the Creative Day of Dance. Schools from all over Perth & Kinross took part in this wonderful event, with some fabulous outfits & routines accompanied by amazing lighting & great music.
We may be biased but we think our ‘Move Your Body’ and ‘Shake, Rock & Roll’ were the best!
Well done everyone who took part and many thanks to all the parents, grandparents and friends who came along to support the children.

Pupils requiring medication in school
If your child requires medication during the school day, a medical consent form must be completed. Forms are available here on the website (click on the School Information tab) or from the school office.
For children requiring an inhaler (even for occasional use) it would be advisable for you to send a spare, named inhaler into school, in addition to completing the appropriate form.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries regarding this.
Interactive School Lunch Menu
Have a look at our exciting interactive school lunch menu –
It has all kinds of useful information for you – including exactly what’s in your lunch, nutritional information and recipes so that you can make your favourites at home.
Our school lunches are very popular – Ms Lyttle our school cook does an amazing job, and is greatly appreciated by pupils and staff. The number of pupils taking school lunches has risen steadily over the last 2 years, and now accounts for an average of 70% lunches a day.

Fair Trade Christmas Sale
The Healthy Helpers were delighted with the turn out at their Fair Trade Christmas sale. They served tea / coffee and mince pies and raised over £30 – thank you everyone who came along.
Sheila from Mana also asked us to pass on her thanks for spending a grand total of £279, helping 2, nearly 3, families out of poverty. We think you’ll agree that there were some lovely gift ideas on offer. We look forward to inviting Sheila back to Forgandenny Primary in 2012.
