The whole school was entertained and educated by Simon Puttock – and award winning author of picture books – on Monday 3rd March. He answered questions about life as an author, and read from his book, Goat and Donkey and the Noise downstairs.

Cross country
A huge well done and congratulations to all the P6/7 pupils who took part in the Perthshire Primary Schools Cross Country event on the 19th February. There was a great photo in the PA. The weather was kind and the children ran to the best of their ability, many of them beating their placings from last year – which is great news.
Congratulations are also due to the children who took part in the Cross Country race at Strathallan on Thursday 27th February. The weather was not so kind, with hail and rain, but it didn’t dampen their spirits and again they did very well. Thanks are due to Mrs Higginbottom for helping to accompany the runners to and from Strathallan.
Burns day 2014
The whole school had an afternoon of Burns celebrations last Friday (24th January). We started with a Burns lunch. Angus Lapslie from Strathallan School piped in the haggis, which was addressed by Sean, Sarah and Connor. The pupils all then enjoyed an excellent lunch of haggis or kilted sausages prepared by Mrs Lyttle. After a break for a run around, we all met again in the hall to hear Scots poems read by children from each class. Mr Blair from Bridge of Earn then spoke to the children about Burns and his life.
Everyone then enjoyed shortbread cooked by P1/2 with the help of Lindsay Galloway and Ashley Sinclair, and cloutie dumpling home cooked by Lindsay Galloway.
The afternoon was rounded off by an excellent version of the Gruffalo’s Wean read by Mrs Findlay.

Happy New Year
Welcome back to the New Year at Forgandenny Primary School. We are excited to be part of the Living Communities project again this year and look forward to working with family, friends and members of the extended community to hear memories of life in the past in this area.
Dalguise
The P6/7’s had a great time at Dalguise and enjoyed all sorts of activities and adventures. They went high, further and faster than many of them had been before, and probably got dirtier that they had ever been as well!
There are loads of photos of all the activities and we are looking at the best way of sharing these with you, but here are a few to keep you going.
SSPCA visit
