About Us

Welcome to our friendly, amazing, wonderful school. We value the excellent relationships we have with parents and with a range of professionals, as we work together to enable our pupils to be the best they can be.

We have a team of very experienced and knowledgeable staff who are able to use a wide range of methods to engage and motivate our pupils to enable them to be happy and successful learners.

Fairview School is the Authority’s Additional Support needs school for children and young people with severe and complex and enduring additional support needs. We cater for pupils with severe social communication difficulties including those on the autistic spectrum. Children and young people (aged 2½ – 18) are placed in the school by the Authority in collaboration with parents/carers. Children may access the nursery class prior to their third birthday as part of the home/school transition process. Under the Additional Support for Learning Act 2009, parents/carers have the right to make a placing request to the school which is considered by the placing panel,  taking account of the school’s capacity and the needs of the child/young person.

We liaise and work closely with our neighbouring schools as part of the development of the ethos of an inclusive campus. We continue to work hard to build our ethos and culture of mutual respect and understanding within our own community and the wider school community which enables us to provide appropriate and exciting learning experiences for the pupils who attend the school.
