Wed 28th June 2012 Congratulations to our Primary 7 pupils who performed a ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ style quiz based on their memories of life at our school at their Leavers’ Service at Errol Parish Church. We thank our P7s for a wonderful year and wish them every success for their secondary education.

Tue 19th June 2012 Well done to all of the children who took part in our yearly staff versus pupils netball match watched by the whole school. The scores were: Pupil Team 1 12 points, Staff 12 points; Pupil Team A 12 points, Staff 18 points. Better luck next year!
Fri 8th June 2012 Congratulations to Jessica Thorburn who today attended the Inspire Aspire Awards Ceremony at Hampden Stadium in Glasgow as a National Finalist selected from over 35,000 children across Scotland, the only pupil to qualify from the whole of Perth & Kinross. Jessica’s tremendous effort in creating a values poster earned her the honour of coming second out of the whole of Scotland for a P5 poster. Jessica received a certificate and a medal and saw the Olympic Torch as it passed through Glasgow. Well done, Jessica!
Tue 22nd May 2012 Congratulations to our netball team and their coach Miss Leslie who took part in an outdoor netball tournament at the North Inch Community Campus in Perth with schools from all over Perth & Kinross, winning 2 games, drawing 1 game and losing 2 games.
Wed 25th April 2012 Well done to Miss Leslie and the Errol Primary School Netball Team who took part in the Perth & Kinross Schools’ Netball Mixed League this year and attended the prize giving ceremony on Wednesday 25th April at Bell’s Sports Centre. The team lost only 1 game in a round robin tournament of 7 and were each presented with a medal and the runners up shield for the school. Good work to all the Primary 6s and 7s who took part and thank you to Miss Leslie for all your hard work coaching them!
Wed 28th March 2012 Thanks to all parents, relatives and members of the community who attended our Easter Service at Errol Parish Church. The children from Nursery all the way up to Primary 7 performed hymns, songs, poems and readings. Thanks to Mrs Beattie for once again playing the church organ and to Rev Main for conducting the service, of which his ‘eggcellent’ sermon was a highlight!
Sun 25th March 2012 Errol Arts Trail, created by the children of Errol and inspired by the stories of the people of Errol at our community arts events, was a tremendous success with 177 recorded visitors (and a few more who joined in along the way!) and very positive feedback. Thanks to the children, parents and staff on the Art Group, and to the Council’s Arts Co-ordinator, Liz Connacher, and professional artist Sarah Wakeford.
Fri 23rd March 2012 Our Pyjama Day raised £285.29 for CHAS; and we received a very generous donation of £135 from Mr Martin from his own fundraising activities! We’ve added these together and will be presenting CHAS with a combined donation of £420.29. Well done all of us!
Wed 21st March 2012 Well done to our netball team and their coach, Miss Leslie, for their victory over Abernethy Primary School by fifteen points to two at Bell’s Sports Centre. This result means that our team are runners up in the Perth & Kinross Primary School’s Mixed Netball League, a fantastic achievement!
Fri 16th March 2012 Thanks to the Parent Council for organising a very well attended Quiz Night at Errol Bowling Club which raised £319.50! The evening was great fun thanks to the tremendous efforts of our Quiz Master, Mr White, the excellent catering provided by the Parent Council, and our friendly hosts, the staff of Errol Bowling Club.

Wed 14th March Well done to our Eco Committee and Mrs Wallace for organising our very successful Bring & Buy Sale. This was an excellent experience for the children of the Eco Committee to put their organisational skills into action in a real life context, and didn’t they do well! Thank you to all who brought & bought, and an extra special thank you to those parents who kindly helped out on the day. UPDATE: We raised £520!
Wed 7th March Congratualtions to the small group of P7s who represented our school at the P7 Maths Challenge at Perth High School. The children were split into teams of children from mixed schools. One of the teams including children from Errol won third place!
Fri 2nd March Congratulations to the children of our Eco Committee, Mrs Wallace, Mrs Humphrey, Mrs Scott and Mr Humphrey for planting five brand new fruit trees in our school grounds. The children worked hard digging holes and gained a great deal of practical knowledge about fruit trees from the grown ups.
Thu 1st March Well done parents, pupils and staff for a tremendous effort in creating fantastic Ugly Bug costumes to wear to our Ugly Bug Ball to celebrate World Book Day. A great time was had by all in the most colourful day we’ve had at school for a long time!

Wed 14th December 2011 We took the whole primary to the pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, at Perth Theatre. For some children this was their first experience of seeing a show with professional actors in a real theatre. Everyone had a great time and joined in the audience participation with great enthusiasm. Oh, no they didn’t! Oh, yes they did!
Tue 13th December 2011 Both the afternoon and evening performances of our Christmas Carol Concert were enjoyed by parents, relatives and friends alike. There was a tremendous atmosphere at both shows, and standing room only in the evening. The appreciative audience made all of the children feel very special and got everyone into the Christmas spirit. All of the children performed very well, with a mixture of carols, songs and poetry. Jacob and Kieran were our hosts, with Ross our soundman and Curtis our projectionist. Thanks to our guest pianist, Miss Ballantyne, to our musical director, Miss Gilchrist, and to all of the children and staff for weeks of rehearsal and preparation. Well done everyone!
Sat 3rd December 2011 Well done to the community of Errol, the Parent Council, parents, children and staff for making our Christmas Fayre such a tremendous success. The Fayre was jam-packed with visitors for the full three hours and was an enjoyable social occasion as well as raising round about £1200 which will be spent on resources for each of the three breakout spaces in the school.
Mon 28th November 2011 Congratulations to Miss Gilchrist who is now our full time, permanent Principal Teacher, following a successful recruitment and interview process. Congratulations and thanks to Mrs Robertson who will be leaving us on Friday 2nd December to take up a post in another school. We welcome Mr Majeed on Monday 5th December, who will be teaching the classes taught by Mrs Robertson on Mondays and Tuesdays; and Miss Pye on Wednesday 7th December, who will be teaching the classes taught by Mrs Robertson on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Wednesday 16th November 2011 Well done to the Scottish Country Dancers who took part in the St Andrew’s Day of Dance at Bells Sport Centre. The pupils had worked hard learning a great many dances and enjoyed performing these alongside children from across Perth and Kinross. Thanks to our parent helpers and staff who assisted us in participating in this event which was enjoyed by all.
Wednesday 2nd November 2011 Well done to children from all classes for planting bulbs in the flower beds at the front of the school. We’re all looking forward to the spring when green shoots will start to poke through. Thank you to Mrs Wallace for organising the day and to all who helped.
Wednesday 26th October 2011 Thanks to Liz Connacher, Arts Development Officer, Sarah Wakeford, artist, Mrs Wallace, Classroom Assistant, and pupils, parents and staff who made our Errol Arts Trail events a success. The events took place on Sat 22nd and on Wed 26th October, the latter was attended by Lord Provost Hulbert. The events were information sessions for forthcoming art activities taking place in Errol.

Wednesday 21st September 2011 Well done to Errol Primary School Eco-Committee and P7s, who, under the guidance of Eco-Leader Mrs Wendy Wallace, organised the Carse Food Festival to support and promote the work of food producers from the Carse of Gowrie and other areas throughout Perthshire and Scotland. The event took place in the school hall at 2.30pm and the local community were invited, along with the children from the school, to come and see the wealth of produce from our local area. Among the companies who came to the event were Taypack Ltd, Perthshire Preserves, Carse Finest, The Carse of Gowrie Orchard Project, Brunty Farm, The Brig Farm Shop, Scot Herbs, Cairn O’Mohr Winery, Tayside Contracts, Stewarts of Tayside and the Glendoick Foods Library. The Royal Highland Educational Trust was also there to provide information about local producers. The Eco-Committee hope that the event highlights the vast amount of food that is produced locally and encourages more people to source their food locally.
Monday 5th September 2011 Well done to all Errol children who entered the recent Errol Flower Show. Cups are being engraved and prizes will be given out at a forthcoming assembly. Thanks to the organisers and all who made the occasion special for the children.

Wednesday 29th June 2011 Congratulations to Tay, winners of the Dave Gardiner Memorial Trophy, presented to the winning school house at our Leavers’ Service today in Errol Parish Church. Each year our school houses compete for the trophy presented to the school by Dave’s son to the memory of his father, and former school janitor, Dave Gardiner. Children earn points for their house through taking part in healthy living and an active lifestyle. This year’s results were: 1st Tay 780 points; 2nd Sidlaw 765 points; 3rd Gowrie 702 points; 4th Carse 695 points.
Wednesday 1st June 2011 Congratulations to Sidlaw who won our School Sports with a score of 522 points. Carse came second with 514 points; Gowrie came third with 506 points; and Tay came fourth with 445 points. Well done to all children for taking part and to all parents who supported the children on the day.
Friday 27th May 2011 Well done to the Parent Council for their fabulous Strawberry Tea which raised funds for the school.
Congratulations to all children, staff, parents and guests who celebrated the official opening of the newly refurbished and extended Errol Primary School on Monday 21st February 2011. Special guest, John Swinney, enjoyed entertainment from all primary school pupils before unveiling a commemorative plaque.
On Thursday 3rd March the whole school celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourtie character from a book. It was a most successful event and we raised £120.55 which will be spent on books in the Scots Tongue for our library. Every pupil in the school also received a £1 book token.
On Friday 28th January, pupils enjoyed a Burns assembly where the winners of our annual Scots Poetry competition recited their winning poems for the enjoyment of the whole school.
