All S1 pupils will be involved in a freshers week beginning Friday 22^nd until Thursday 28^th August. The week will be full of activities which will allow pupils to get to know each other and work together in teams (timetable overleaf). The main activity of the week is the Newspaper Challenge. Pupils will be developing literacy skills in the production of  house newspapers.                              

Individually and in groups, pupils will be;

1. completing activities around the school values of ASPIRE
2. developing articles from a series of breaking news

2.         To promote literacy

3.         To raise awareness of the school values (ASPIRE)

4.         To foster a competitive spirit

5.         To provide opportunities for S1 pupils to work  together and to get to know each other

6.         Early links with Parent / Carers
