BLACKFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL

Recognising achievement

When you believe you can, you’re already halfway to achieving it.

We recognise and celebrate achievement in a variety of ways such as

  • daily interactions and observations
  • learner conversations between children and staff
  • reports and progress updates
  • weekly learning stars
  • celebrating success at assemblies
  • learning journals posts
  • staged intervention meetings
  • achievement announcements
  • newsletter inserts
  • annual awards
  • Local community and interhouse competitions

Our weekly assemblies are valued by all of us as a chance to celebrate out learning stars of the week and other small achievements that are important to building children’s confidence and self esteem.

A System That Represents Who We Are

Our approaches to celebrating success, rewards and our House System celebrate effort and character, strengthens relationships, and nurtures confident, caring and capable learners. Through this combined approach, we build a school community where every child can be happy, positive, and successful.
