Football Success

Our football team won the final football festival of the year today. The team have had a great year, coming in first place in each of the four festivals – this resulted in them being awarded the Peter McAvoy trophy. Well done team, and thank you to Martin Shankland for all the coaching, thanks also to the volunteers who helped at the after-school football club and who drove the minibus for us.

Penny Mile

Miles - Penny Boy

The Parent Council have started this great fundraising idea:

Blackford Primary School Penny Mile

84,480 pennies laid next to each other will cover 1 mile

The Games Park to Comelyburn Farm is 1 mile

84,480 pennies is £844.80p

42,240 pennies, will cover ½ a mile

The Games Park to Blackford Primary School is ½ a mile

42,240 pennies is £422.40p

Please start collecting and hunting for pennies to help us with this summer’s ambitious fundraising idea. On Friday 27th May 2016 we hope to be able to lay over 80,000 pennies along Moray Street to cover a mile. If we succeed we will have raised over £800 for school… so collect your pennies to help us raise money for the school and see where our destination will be.

Miles – the Penny Boy will be in school to put pennies into up to the end of term – we hope that he might move to Tullibardine for the holidays!

We have ‘Penny Mile’ Stickers which you can stick onto a jar, tin or bottle, to remind you what you are collecting for and when we need the pennies back.

Use a recycled jar, tin or plastic bottle, stick on the sticker and help us reach our target of

A MILE of PENNIES.

Please bring us the pennies when your container is full. Thank you.
