Burns Speaking Competition

Well done to all our pupils who worked hard to learn a Burns or Scots poem.

The winner of the Blackford Burns Club Quaich is Jamie Walker, who’s recitation of Address to a Haggis was brilliant!

Runners up were Rachel Lynn & Aisha  Zameer, and Scots Verse joint winners were Aethan Clark and Aisling Duffy.

Our other winnners this year are Jodie Robertson and Jacob Clark, with Finlay Yearsley and Georgia Leslie being worthy runners up.

All winners and runners up received a book with a Scottish theme, sponsored by Blackford Burns Club. We were delighted to have two members of the Club in school to judge the senior class.

We had a great Burns school lunch and were joined by former pupil Alec Sloan who piped for us, with Jamie Walker reciting the Address to a Haggis. It was a very special lunch, thoroughly enjoyed by both pupils and staff. Special thanks to our wonderful cook, Mrs Nicolson.
