Children are entitled to a pre-education school place in the term after their third birthday.   The usual time to apply for a nursery place at local authority nurseries is late February each year. A notice will be placed in the local press detailing the relevant dates for nursery registration.  However, you can apply for a nursery place throughout the school year.
