About Us

Abernethy Primary is sited on the A913 between Newburgh (Fife) and Bridge of Earn (Perth & Kinross) and is 10 miles east of Perth.  The very first Abernethy school opened on October 6th 1873 and the old school log books reveal some very interesting facts about school and village life from these earlier times.

The school moved from the old premises on School Wynd in August 2002.  The current building,  shown above , was extended in 2013 to accomodate a growing school roll and update the interior layout by increasing space for teaching and learning. The new school is a great hit with children and staff alike and is also utilised by various community groups.
