{"id":347,"date":"2009-04-24T11:26:32","date_gmt":"2009-04-24T11:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salibblog.wordpress.com\/?p=347"},"modified":"2009-04-24T11:26:32","modified_gmt":"2009-04-24T11:26:32","slug":"redesign-and-project-links-via-deliciouscom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/stromnessacademylibrary\/2009\/04\/24\/redesign-and-project-links-via-deliciouscom\/","title":{"rendered":"Redesign and Project Links via delicious.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The blog is going through a wee bit of a redesign as your Librarian is learning more about Web 2.0 applications and how to integrate them into the blog.<\/p>\n<p>In the first instance, in the right hand column, you will find <a title=\"SALibrary's Delicious\" href=\"http:\/\/delicious.com\/StromnessAcademyLibrary\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Internet Bookmarks for your Projects<\/em><\/a> which will supplement the internet hotlists you can access through the library <a title=\"Library website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stromnessacademy.orkney.sch.uk\/dept_library_home_page.htm\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>. The bookmarks are collated using a Web2.0 application called <a title=\"Delicious\" href=\"http:\/\/delicious.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Delicious<\/a> which allows you to access your own bookmarks from any computer. It also allows you to share your bookmarks with other people.<\/p>\n<p>The internet was once just a reference tool which you used to search for infomation. Now, many websites are much more than a source of information and you can interact with them. Web 2.0 sites allow you to communicate, share and interact with information and people in a virtual environment. It is how the internet is now developing and growing.<\/p>\n<p>Some interesting Web 2.0 sites:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Bubbl\" href=\"http:\/\/bubbl.us\/edit.php\" target=\"_blank\">Bubbl.us<\/a>: Brainstorming<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Survey Monkey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\" target=\"_blank\">Survey Monkey<\/a>: Create online surveys<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Wordle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wordle.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wordle<\/a> : Word clouds<\/p>\n<p>Social networking sites such as\u00a0 <em>Facebook <\/em>&amp;<em> Bebo<\/em>, blogs, and wikis are all part of the Web 2.0 family<\/p>\n<p>Social Bookmarking:<a title=\"Diigo\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diigo\"> Diigo<\/a>;<span style=\"color:#000000\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.furl.net\/learnMore.jsp\" target=\"_blank\">Delicious<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.furl.net\/learnMore.jsp\" target=\"_blank\">Furl<\/a>;<\/span> <a title=\"StumbleUpon\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/StumbleUpon\">StumbleUpon<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Blogging:<a title=\"Blogger (service)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blogger_%28service%29\"> Blogger<\/a>;<span class=\"mw-redirect\"> <\/span><a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Wordpress\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wordpress\">WordPress<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Media Sharing: <a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/YouTube\">YouTube<\/a>; <a title=\"Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Flickr\">Flickr<\/a>; <a title=\"Dumpr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dumpr.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dumpr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Social cataloguing (eg. of your books):<span class=\"mw-redirect\"> <\/span><a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Librarything\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Librarything\">Librarything<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Virtual World: <a title=\"Second Life\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Second_Life\">Second Life<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Massively multiplayer online games are also part of the Web 2.0 generation.
