{"id":2289,"date":"2015-01-29T15:20:27","date_gmt":"2015-01-29T15:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salibblog.wordpress.com\/?p=2045"},"modified":"2015-01-29T15:20:27","modified_gmt":"2015-01-29T15:20:27","slug":"stan-lee-excelsior-award-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/stromnessacademylibrary\/2015\/01\/29\/stan-lee-excelsior-award-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Stan Lee Excelsior Award 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is that time of year again (well, maybe slightly later than usual) when we return to thinking about Graphic Novels and shadowing the annual <a title=\"SLEA\" href=\"http:\/\/www.excelsioraward.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stan Lee Excelsior Award<\/a> for graphic novels and Manga.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/public\/stromnessacademylibrary\/uploads\/sites\/654\/2015\/01\/dscn5819.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2048\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/public\/stromnessacademylibrary\/uploads\/sites\/654\/2015\/01\/dscn5819.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"DIsplay2\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This winner of this award is decided by pupils, aged 11 &#8211; 16, who read and then fill in a ratings form for each of the eight shortlisted books. Further house points (hp) will be available for any completed (or partially completed) cards handed in. 1-2 books = 1 hp; 3-4 books = 2 hp; 5-6 books = 3 hp; 7-8 books = 4 hp.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><strong>Reading Record <\/strong><\/span>: A Reading Record task sheet for the shortlisted books is also available. You may use the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/public\/stromnessacademylibrary\/uploads\/sites\/654\/2015\/01\/graphic-novel-sheet-for-slea.pdf\">SLEA Task Sheet<\/a> provided to help you evaluate, rate and comment on each book prior to filling out the official ratings form.
